Even though there is, often, only one cat in the house, I use the "multi-cat", believing it might have more clumping ability and odor control than "single". There are two types of Shweat Scoop - one for single cat households and one for multi-cat households. (I bought those bags when I couldn't get Swheat Scoop, anywhere.) My cats use that, as well, without problems. I do keep a couple bags of natural, non-clumping litter on hand, now, as back-up, in case I can't get Swheat Scoop, for any reason. It's flushable, though I've never tried that. It smells good and has proven safe for both adult cats & kittens. I like it because it's natural and "soft" - it is, basically, a food that will break down in their digestive systems if they ingest any (while cleaning themselves, etc.), and, even being a clumping litter, I believe it will break down before sticking to their insides and doing any damage (unlike, perhaps, chemically-treated, clumping litters).
